St Ambrose Barlow Catholic Primary School

Event - St. Ambrose Barlow Parish Family Mission Service

17 October 2019

In recognition of the 50th anniversary of our school and 40th anniversary of our parish, a mission took place at church this week.

A mission is a reminder of the love of God has for each and every one of us and for the world. It is also an invitation to work more closely to God.

Our parish mission, helping celebrate both anniversaries, was led by the Redemptorist Mission Team, Fr Kieran Brady and Fr Charles Randall. Fr Kieran began the week with a while school assembly and celebrated Mass on Wednesday at school, on the feast of St. Gerard Majella.

On Thursday, the Family Service involved a procession led by the children. The Family Service gave insight into Pope Francis’ words about the importance of family and how we should celebrate God’s love for all of us. Children also role played the call of Samuel and exemplified the importance of listening out for God’s call in our daily lives. The children sang and signed ‘Walk in the Light’ at the end of the service for the parish community.

Well done children and thank you Frs Kieran and Charles for an enlightening week. Here's to many more years in the life of our parish and school!
